Hi!
currently I am trying to simulate a SPR modified by the presence of Au NS over the Au thin layer.
The configuration I have is:
--------------------------------------------------------------
n_external + Au NS (infinite thickness)
--------------------------------------------------------------
Au thin film (50 nm)
--------------------------------------------------------------
Glass (infinite thickness)
--------------------------------------------------------------

The light source is a planewave inciding from the glass layer at a 84º angle, to excite a SPR. The single Au nanosphere is located 2 nm above the Au layer, and the external medium has a RI close to water.

I am trying to compute the total reflected power from this configuration, but I'm facing very strange results (see attached file).
The notebook is also attached.
Any kind of guidance is welcome :)

Hi Paulo,

I guess that by "strange results" you mean the negative ECS, right? This is actually physically possible due to the way how we define "excinction" in Smuthi, see also the online help section on this topic.

Cheers, Amos
