I have deleted app and downloaded a new one. Don’t know why I didn’t think of doing that sooner!

Virginia, if you would like to test your new iPlayer app, I can recommend BBC Four’s "The Hijacker who Vanished –– the Mystery of D B Cooper”, which we watched last night. It’s a true story and totally gripping.
