Morning SMUGGERS

I have a couple of interviews recorded in the free version of Zoom (so no transcribe features) that I’d like turned into text. There’s a number of online services that claim to do this and I wondered if any of you lovely people have any experience of them and could recommend which one to go for?

Thanks
Phil

If you have another computer you could try playing the meeting so that another computer using Textedit or some other text or word processing programing in Dictation mode to transcribe the speech into text - no doubt you would have to edit the dictated text to get it correct. If it works let us know

I’ve actually just taken a plunge with sonix.ai and it worked pretty well – even with not great Zoom audio quality.

First 30 mins is free then $10/hour. Much more cost effective than me sat there for hours typing away frantically while listening on headphones. And even better, it meant I didn’t have to listen to the sound of my own voice droning on.

I have far more experience of this than any human should, and I recommend otter.ai. (https://otter.ai). but do you want timestamping (ie to create subtitles)? Because a transcript won't do that...You could also see what Youtube is like at this (I've used Zoom - which now uses otter anyway -, Teams and a few others, but not Youtube).
