Morning all

For various reasons I'm thinking of returning to a paper diary (it's been a 20+ yr trial since my first Palm Pilot!)

One option I'd like to explore first, is a diary that recreates the 'paper' experience - ie, a week to view on the screen with space to enter appointments and scribble notes with the Apple Pencil (and maintains my writing and colours rather than converts to a typeface).

I've seen Paperlike, a PDF to open with Notability and will give it a whirl. I've searched for an App that does this, but can't find anything anywhere! It feels like a glaring gap in the market for people who want a digital version of a standard paper diary.

Any tips or App ideas from anybody?!

Thanks

Adam

I remember reading an article some time back about paperlike PDF (and later the screen texture sheet) and it sounds the closest to what you’re after from what I recall, not that I’ve done an exhaustive search …

ZoomNotes has templates that would do this (scratching the surface of what it can do). I think there’s a free version to try it out.

Adam,

I think the closest you’ll find in the App Store is Diaro.

For some years I used Notability, originally on a Mac and later on my iPad for keeping a ‘daily diary’. Now that Notes supports folders I’ve been using this instead - a folder per month. Not perfect but it stays within the iOS ecosystem.

Thanks for all suggestions.
On balance I'm not sure if I'm overegging this pudding and perhaps a paper diary and pen is best. I see Moleskine do a SmartPen and diary which is interesting and exactly what I'd like, but I'm not convinced it's just a fad and unlikely to stick around for long.

I might go old skool diary and biro and find another excuse to justify a new iPad mini and pencil  ;)
