Hi there,

I've got my eye on this monitor - https://bit.ly/47r3F01 - a 34" widescreen job.

The questions are:

1. Will this work with my old Mac Mini 2012?
2. Is it a good match for a Mac Mini M2 which I'm planning to buy early next year?

I find all the HDMI, Thunderbolt, DisplayPort, MiniDisplayPort stuff all a bit bamboozling, I'm afraid.

Thanks!

Rob

Should connect to the 2012 Mini but perhaps not at the full resolution and refresh rate. It’ll work a lot better with the M2.

HDMI should suffice to connect to both Macs, just make sure it’s a modern, high quality HDMI cable for when you buy the M2

Thanks Sam. Will the HDMI connection support the full resolution of the monitor with the M2? It's 3440 x 1440.

Yes should be fine as long as it’s a high quality cable

Last question - what defines a 'high quality' cable? Have you got a recommendation?

Thanks again, really appreciate this.
