Dear Smuggers,

Sorry for being so noisy here at the moment but I would like to ask if
anyone can do what I think is a quick job if you have the tools.

I'd like a cleaned-up version of the graphic at
https://daviddavies.name/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/king-1024x682.jpg

It's been scanned and the cartoon on the other side has come through. I
have zero idea how to do this (nor the software). I'm not asking anyone
to do more than spend a couple of minutes reducing the worst of the
noise but if anyone feels generous, I'd be very grateful.

(It's by the sadly-deceased Kliban, most famous for his cat cartoons in
the 90s). I want to use it for educational purposes and am trying to
decipher the copyright situation to check it falls under 'fair use'
right now.

Cheers,

Jason

I have achieved the same effect using Preview, Tools, Adjust colour and drag the right arrow to the left and drage the left arrow tto the right.

Preview is a wonderful program for working on graphics, adjusting colour, density as well as. lots of other graphic features that one would think were outside the scope of a PDF viewing program. It has a lot of the basic but useful capabilities that Aperture (RIP) has.

Thank you for that! I ad NO IDEA that preview was so useful!

PDF experts think that the PDF viewer isn’t very good and recommend just using, if possible, the Acrobat Reader.

Can the free version of acrobat reader combine PDFs down to the individual page? That’s the most useful feature of Preview I find

I feel embarrassed now - I opened it in Preview, changed the exposure level and that fixed it instantly. Thanks for the tips, I had no idea Preview had this stuff built in;)
