Hi folks,
My Mac mini M1 was due to update to 13.1 so I made sure TM was up to date and set it off. That was yesterday afternoon.
The progress bar got to about 2/3rds then stuck for several hours so in the end I booted from Recovery, which recognised no users. The only way forward was reinstall and it only offered me Monteroy so I erased, reinstall,d and ran the Migration process. That was ok.
So I tried again and the progress bar is once again stuck. Now it's vanished entirely and I have a black screen. The pointer responds (slowly and jaggedly) to movement.
Clearly it dislikes something I have installed (TeX perhaps? That happened once before).
Do the wise elders of SMUG suspect it is ticking over invisibly or am I back to erasing and reinstalling the OS? My best guess for next steps is to not migrate my files, install Monteroy, update to 13.1 and then try migrating.
Anyone else got any other ideas? I don't have a clone start-up these days because I don't have the right hardware (I actually do have a clone of the original OS on a USB drive but it simply refused to start from that, wouldn't let me set it as Start-up disk. It had worked in the past so not sure what happened there).
Cheers,
Jason
