New E-Reader – recommendations

Hello Smuggers,

My ancient Kindle having reached the end of its usability, I am about to buy a new E-Reader. I would be grateful for recommendations as  to which E-reader is best.

Consider an iPad (possibly the mini), it can do everything a Kindle can do and a lot more – and it will link with your other Mac devices.

Dear Gillian,

It depends a bit – if the old one was perfectly adequate I would definitely simply get the latest version of that. There is sometimes a trade-in via amazon for the old one (not for a huge amount though).

If the old one was not the right one, say more about you need from it. There are quite a few different ones now. Many are more powerful than Kindles but that’s chiefly in the area of whether you can write on them and similar.
