Hi folks

Our satnav died so we thought we may as well use a phone. However, my wife often ends up in areas with no signal so while the 'look up before you leave, then offline stored' tricks get her there, they don't get her back. Does anyone have recommendations (preferably from actual use) for a fully offline satnav set-up?

Cheers
J

Hi,

I use ‘Here WeGo’ (free) which has always been really good for me. You download the countries you want and then tell the app to navigate offline. It worked perfectly for me on a motorcycle trip to Iran unlike Garmin etc. Years ago it was Nokia’s mapping app (I think).

Hope this helps

Hi Jason -

I use Waze, which is free.

I’ve been a user for a few years now and I think it is brilliant, especially for me as a disabled woman. It just works. (Unlike my previous experience with TomTom and Garmin). I drive up to the northeast a lot and feel confident that I will just get safely to places by myself.

My partner and I have used it in Ireland and Croatia. Again - it just worked.

Best wishes
Catherine
