Lost Admin Password

Hi,
My partner has an iMac which she hardly uses, however we tried to log into it the other day and it does not respond to any password we have. How can we reset it with new login information.
There is nothing of value on the computer so it could be restarted from scratch, but I don't know how to do that.

Restart holding cmd+alt+R to go into Internet Recovery > use Disk Utility to erase Macintosh HD > quit disk Utility then select to reinstall a new copy of macOS

That’ll reset it fully to factory defaults

Thanks sam, I’ll have access to it in a week or two so will try that and contact you if I have problems.
