'update Mavericks'?

Hi folks, this is an odd one…
I'm running a Mac Pro 2010 with 10.14. The other day the App Store said
I had an update to install. It turned out to be mavericks (10.9.5). I
can't seem to get rid of the little 1 ("you have an update!") on the app
icon. Anyone know how I suppress this? I keep thinking this something I
need to attend to…
Mavericks is not installed on any of the internal drives though I think
there is a 10.6 somewhere for emergencies.
