I’ve been waiting for a software update for my EyeTV before considering updating to Catalina. It’s now arrived!

If any one else relies on an EyeTV device on their Mac, the update works fine, at least in Mojave and they say Catalina. The upgrade is €25.

I use my EyeTV almost all the time I’m on my Mac Mini, before that my MacPro. It’s tuned to either a Radio or TV station (Freeview), I find it great company.

However, I’m still hesitating to upgrade to Catalina, too much old 32bit software on my Mac.

I’ve found a way to ditch the Adobe ripoff software, I’ve converted to Affinity software (UK developer). But bit of a steep learning curve swapping from Adobe InDesign to Affinity Publisher.

Anyone got a suggestion for an alternative to Adobe Dreamweaver?

The Affinity Software is a great alternative to Adobe, I have all three of their programs and would recommend them even though Affinity Publisher is still in its early stages.

As for an alternative to Dreamweaver, well perhaps Affinity will try their hand at that too one day? I use RapidWeaver for my two websites (links below). It is another UK developer, based in Brighton, and sells well all round the world. It is nothing like Dreamweaver really, but I find it much easier to use, and the results are great. https://www.realmacsoftware.com/rapidweaver/

wow, I thought that would never come, thanks for the heads-up. But having said that, since I moved I can't get a signal anyway without mounting a whole new aerial on the roof (I used to live literally within sight of Crystal Palace transmitter, I think I was spoiled...).

I'd second Rapidweaver. I use it to build all sorts of sites and it's got a thriving third party add on community.

I've also just bought Blocs because it was on special offer. Looks really interesting.
