Pages macOS auto-inserting blank page

Evening all

Pages has an annoying habit and I can't find a way to turn it off....

If I'm resizing an object, even if it doesn't exceed the page dimensions, at a certain point Pages adds a linked additional blank page. If I try to delete it from the Thumbnails, it deletes both pages. But I've no need for the blank page and it's really annoying as totally mucks up the flow of the pages I do want.

Any tips?!?!

Are there invisible returns that it is accommodating? Try selecting text by dragging or via keyboard within the blank area (including the one with the object)

Also, check that your graphic doesn’t have auto wrap on - in the format panel.

No, it's not invisibles, but was the Autowrap.
