Messages suddenly not appearin on laptop

Maybe someone else has started experiencing this mildly annoying problem.
Text messages are coming through normally on my phone & iPad but are not appearing since the last 36 hours on my MBA (or rather some are and some aren’t).
Software all up to date.
Have signed in and out of iCloud. Closed Messages and reopened etc etc.

I read somewhere that many users are having similar problems on Big Sur. Also some printer problems. Check out the Apple communities website.

Suggest you need to wait for next Big Sur update, 11.1 perhaps.

Thanks for your reply Paul. Trawled through support on Apple and on Macrumours; nothing really so I restarted MBA and iPhone and that has done the trick. Didn’t expect to have to go to that length.
On the whole Big Sur seems fine to me. Just waiting for Superduper to be capable of a bootable backup.
