Printer troubles

Since the latest upgrade, not sure whether on iPad or MacBookPro, my Canon printer is not recognised by my iPad. In past, if the MBP was open, I could print documents directly from my iPad. Now it says “no printer selected”. There is a program/widget that I downloaded a few years ago which enabled iPad to speak to printer. I guess it needs upgrading. Can any brilliant smugger cast light on this?

Ah Sam,  you are a genius.  It was a WiFi problem.  Not caused by router but by MBP reverting to old router settings and therefore not connecting to internet. I’m pretty sure now that printer problems were caused by this.

Then next is what Sam said, then make sure your printer is connected to the wifi. You should then be able to “see“ it from your iPad without the MacBook needing to be on at all.

If you are not sure how to do that, google your printers model and go to the canon.co.uk website where you will be able to access your manual and help files.
