Hi folks,

In my Dropbox is a folder that was originally shared, now obsolete. It is owned by a different user (my spare admin account) for some reason. Dropbox on the web thinks it doesn't exist but is complaining it can't sync it.

I can't change permissions, the lock icon is greyed out in Get Info. Trying to allow 'admin' to read and write (currently read-only) simply tells me I don't have permission to do anything. Basically, it refuses to be moved to the Bin;)

The account that owns the folder can't see it if I log in as that, because it's in my main user folders.

Any suggestions welcome. Dropbox keeps asking to update itself but can't while this is interrupting it (it's an infinite loop).

Cheers,

Jason

In Terminal try

sudo chflags -R nouchg

Drag the Dropbox folder into the terminal and its return. Type in your password (no dots will appear) and push return
