Good morning Smuggers

A small, but irritating thing, when I wake up my iMac (OS 10.14.6) in the morning I get a series of onscreen messages accompanied by a voice reading them out and I have to close is to VoicOver off.

How do I turn off this feature?

Should be in system preferences > accessibility

It might be worth mentioning as a tip that if you can't find something in the den of snakes that is System Preferences, the search box (top right) does a pretty good job of finding stuff. I don't think I ever bother trying to click through to things anymore, I just search.

I agree with Jason. Search is really good at getting you to what you are looking for - that is providing your question is not convoluted!
