2025 SMGA Officers -- Call for nominations

Hello SMGAers, 

As we approach the end of this year, it's time once again to nominate and vote (if necessary) for SMGA officers for next year.

The officer positions and duties (in a nutshell) are as follows:

• President - Responsible for guiding all other officers in their duties to the SMGA. Captain the SMGA team for NCGA events, the annual SMGA match-play championship, and the second round of the tournament of champions.

• Vice-President/Handicap Chairman - Responsible for dealing with matters related to the Rules of Golf and rules education. Chairman of the Rules Committee and should know the Club Bylaws. Captain of the first round of the tournament of champions.

• Tournament Director - Responsible for golf course selection (by committee) and coordinating/assisting the Tournament Captains.

• Secretary/Treasurer - Responsible for all club finances and SMGA Membership.

The deadline for submitting candidates names is noon Nov. 29. All nominees must be endorsed by two other members and please consult with the nominee prior to submitting his or her name.

So let's get started and submit names of fellow members you think can continue to lead the SMGA. If we have more than one candidate nominated for a position, we'll conduct voting as follows.

• Ballots issued to all members with nominee names on Nov. 30.

• Polls will be opened on Nov 30 and voting begins.

• Polls will close at midnight Dec 7.

• Election results will be published on Dec 8 and names will be submitted to the NCGA office.

Please email nominations and seconds to smga...@googlegroups.com before noon on Nov. 29. The bylaws state nominations need to be seconded by two additional members, so if you see someone nominated, feel free to send your second.

Seconded to both and I'll fill any gaps that are needed as I already pinged Charles. Seems reasonable since we "meet" fortnightly.
