Dear SMBC’ers,
Since we all enjoyed the switch from Paso Robles to Cambria, here is the information for the April 25, 26 dates this coming year. The Bluebird Inn has nice inexpensive rooms available and here is the link.

Some of us are going to camp at the Hearst San Simeon Washburn campsite Saturday April 5th. We have sites W231 & W233, but only two bikes allowed in each. So if you want to camp, book yourself nearby.
We will have dinner in camp on Saturday, and we can walk from the motel to a nice restaurant Sunday night.

Breakfast at Flapjacks Saturday around 8:30
Possible route:
25 -> Bitterwater -> King City -> Jolon Rd Mission Rd (Ft Hunter-Liggett) -> Nacimiento-Fergusson Rd -> SR1 Down the coast to the campground in San Simeon where we camp Saturday night.
The Washburn Campground is part of the San Simeon Creek Campground off Hwy 1, about 5 miles north of Cambria. So far, we have 2 campsites booked, If anyone is coming via 4 wheels, I have fire wood if you can carry it. Dinner/Breakfast is in Camp, and a ride Sunday morning can be through Cambria to Santa Rosa Creek Rd, (perhaps Cypress Mountain Rd, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AU4OXAS2ft4 ) Old Creek road into Cayucos and up Hwy 1 to Cambria for Hotel Happy Hour.
The Motel for Sunday night is the Bluebird Inn in Cambria. There are several restaurants walking distance to the motel, i.e. Black Cat Bistro, or Las Cambritas. Although Sunday can be busy, I am not making dinner reservations anywhere.
Monday is breakfast in town and a ride home, or for you retirees, the adventure can continue : )

Sorry Mike. Here is the AI version I should have used…
Dear SMBC’ers,
I hope this message finds you well! As we had such a great time during our last trip, I’m excited to share the details for our upcoming adventure to Cambria on April 25-26, 2026.
For accommodation, the Bluebird Inn has affordable rooms that I highly recommend. Here’s the link for more information: Bluebird Inn | Hotels In Cambria, CA | Moonstone Beach Accommodations.
A few of us will be camping at the Hearst San Simeon Washburn Campground on Saturday, April 25. We currently have sites W231 and W233 booked, which can accommodate two bikes each. If you're interested in joining us, please make sure to reserve a nearby camping spot since space is limited.
For those not camping, the Bluebird Inn is a great choice, and we can walk to a nice restaurant for dinner on Sunday night. Some options include Black Cat Bistro and Las Cambritas. However, please note that I won’t be making dinner reservations, as Sundays can get busy.
Tentative Plan:
The Washburn Campground is part of San Simeon Creek Campground, located about 5 miles north of Cambria. For those coming in a vehicle, I have some firewood available if you’re able to transport it. We will have dinner and breakfast in camp, and Sunday morning, we might take a scenic ride through Cambria to Santa Rosa Creek Rd, possibly checking out Cypress Mountain Rd before heading to Cayucos and then back up Hwy 1 to Cambria for Happy Hour.
On Monday, we can enjoy breakfast in town before heading home. If any retirees want to extend the adventure, feel free to make further plans!
Please be safe and consider booking your accommodations now!
Looking forward to another memorable trip!
Best, Harry
