Is there a centralized list of SMART on FHIR endpoints? For example, Epic provides this list of endpoints, and a very nice patient facing website to access Epic MyChart for a particular clinic. It is searchable by location. So I can search for "Maryland" and see all MyChart clinic endpoints for that state.

I seek to replicate the Epic MyChart access page, but add SMART on FHIR endpoints from eClinicalWorks, Cerner, and other vendors. I think a central and continually updated list of SMART on FHIR endpoints would be beneficial to EHR interoperability. Is there such a list that already exists?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

No, there is no single central list anywhere

Just for background, we are working on a specification to provide more consistent publication of endpoint and branding information to help patients select their provider. We are not focuses on creating a centralized repository but just looking to have each vendor publish data in a consistent and open format.

Let me reword it: there is no comprehensive central list anywhere. There are various very incomplete ones.

Michele,
I notice that Cerner has updated the list of endpoints for the first time in nearly 4 years, just last week.  That's an exciting development and hopefully tools like Lantern will be better able to maintain a comprehensive list for Cerner endpoints now.   https://github.com/cerner/ignite-endpoints

Josh,
I like the branding specification you are working on, is it slated to be included as part of the FHIR specification?

Thanks,
Tim

Hi Tim,

At this stage we are looking to get consensus from the EHR vendors and drive toward implementation. If that is successful (say, with 3+ vendors publishing in this format), we would consider bringing it through an HL7 standards process.

Cerner endpoints cannot be used out of the box, you have to ask each individual provider on that list to enable your app to connect- and more often than not they just ignore you

I have been working on this for the past 6 years, and I saw very little progress in all this time, so I am not very optimistic

I stand corrected! Cerner is now automatically enabling all patient-facing apps - that is great news

That is great news indeed! They had announced the plan to do this a while back, and it's wonderful to see this come through.
