Hey Randos!

It looks like the Amtrak train on Monday morning is not accepting bikes, they must have sold out. I guess we would need to box our bikes if we want to ride Amtrak? Has anyone ever bought an Amtrak bike box and packed their bike? It looks like we just might need to remove the pedals and handlebars to fit the bike in the box, but I am not sure.

I am trying to figure out travel logistics and I am curious what everyone else is planning? If you are not taking the train, would you be getting picked up? Is anyone planning alternative methods of transportation?

It's just as easy as you describe - remove the pedals and rearrange the bars so they are parallel with the frame. It helps to have some tape for that step.

Amtrak will give you a long skinny box. Call ahead to the station to make sure they have boxes.
