Has anyone been successful with this configuration? The Icom Remote Utility creates a COM port on the local computer to control the remote 9700 but the RA-BA1 software grabs that port and rigctld can't use it to create a TCP port to talk to Skyroof. It looks like the Utility creates several UDP ports one of which could be used for control but I can't figure out how to do that.

You might consider something like virtual serial port emulator software VSPE as a solution to create a splitter port that uses the port the Icom software creates and make that into a pair of ports with different addresses that way, the Icon software works to grab it and sky cat can grab it as well. Now this is just an assumption maybe their software doesn’t give you that type of handle but maybe it does.

You could use the "Remote" serial 3.5mm jack and connect rigctld to that serial port?

COM port sharing should never be used for CAT control, this leads to command conflicts and unstable operation. If the radio has both a virtual COM port via USB and a physical COM port, then two programs can talk to the radio at the same time, a described by another user. If there is only one port, you should allow only one program to control the radio.
