Hi everyone,

Most of the Orion auction lots include multiple items. Example:

[Lot] of (15) Meade/Coronado Personal Solar Telescope, 40mm, f/10...

As a result, most individuals won't be too interested in bidding on some of those lots (or their bids will be too low and they may not get the item they are interested in...)

This means that we should try and join forces. To help achieve this, I scraped the auction website and have created a spreadsheet so that several people may signal their interest for a specific lot.

Here is a link to the online spreadsheet:

Please, review the instructions and the disclaimer before editing the spreadsheet.

Feel free to share the link to this spreadsheet with anyone or any organization local to the bay area.

Thanks,
- Julien, aka Dark Sky Geek -

 Thanks Julien!

I was looking at the list yesterday. And for those thinking about a scope, careful and read the description. You might not get the accessories in the same box.

On the auction site, I see: https://www.bidspotter.com/en-us/auction-catalogues/rabin/catalogue-id-rabin10237/lot-1c880010-8437-4d9a-9c57-b25401755f74 as lot 507, "Telescopes", but in the spreadsheet lot 507 is "tape dispensers"?

Good idea! Thanks Julian. I am looking for some good binoculars and a computerized mount for my sky view pro mount.

By the way, any suggestions on the binoculars?

Awesome work Julian, Thanks! I recommend everyone sign up based on description. The lot numbers are tricky, as some numbers are missing, and at least one as a letter (283A). The bigger the group, the more buying power and potentially bigger advantage in winning.

The description of lot 253 is "Lot of 5 Orion Apochromatic Refractor Telescopes, EON, 115 and 130mm ED triplet refractor".

I am in the market for a refractor in this size class, but dont really need 5 of them.  Zooming into the image, I can't tell if they are 115 or 130mm.

Best

All the  lot numbers I have checked in the sheet are wrong, according to the individual web pages for the lots.

Anyway, for you imagers, Search for

"Astrograph"
"APO"
"OTA"
"ACF" if you are an SCT fan
"triplet"
"ED telescope"
etc.

"CF" seems to be "Carbon Fiber, vs Flourite. (there is one lot of fluorite spotting scopes)

There are some cameras but I don't see anything I would recommend, especially as there wouldn't be any support.

I haven't seen any imaging suitable mounts either (There one "Atlas EQ G", but it doesn't say "Pro" and is in a lot with a bunch of lesser mounts).

Just my 2 cents.

The lot numbers in the spreadsheet are completely disconnected from the real lot numbers, sorry for the confusion (I just wanted some kind of index people could refer to)

The only guarantee I provide with this spreadsheet is that the link and the description match for each line. I assume that having the description of all the items of this auction in one easily searchable spreadsheet, and being able to signal one’s interest, is what is most important to people.

Clear skies!

I only 'need' binos from the auction, if folks want to join forces on that, please recommend a good one for astronomy and we can bid on it.

I got approved to bid!

@Rajah - Saw some 70mm binos on the list.
