A bit off topic for this list – possibly.

I’m receiving SIP calls with Max-forward = 2 when they first hit the system.   For good reason, they drop.   The carrier is receiving these calls from Cingular Wireless with max forward at 12 – which seems low already.   They go through several networks and an Ingate before getting to me.

I believe the solution here is for Cingular to increase their max-forwards prior to getting to the ITSP.   Anyone had experience in getting a change like that – and a process they found that worked.  My only thought is to open a ticket with a Cingular wireless user and report the issue – but suspect it has Zero chance of getting any results.

Todd,

Maybe if your calls come in and hit IVR you can use the max-forwards setting introduced in 15.08 in Media Services (System -> Media Services -> Max Forwards).

2 might be even too low however to reach IVR.

Mike

Thanks Mike.  I was looking at that the other day.  I may give it a try today to see how it works out and give it a try on the site while they are closed for the weekend.  In the end, I do want the carrier to present us with a better number, but this might be a great workaround.

Thanks again.
