I am getting constant requests to have the DND button removed from the Polycom VVX phones. People are constantly accidentally putting there phones on DND and my Help Desk is flooded with people who "Can't receive inbound calls", because you know people are unable to tell when their phones are in DND mode.

I found on the Polycom support site that adding a feature to the config file should remove it. I have tried manually adding it to the <mac-address>-sipx-features.cfg file as well as creating a .cfg file and uploading to an Unmanaged TFTP File and listing that file to the Custom Configuration tab under the phone profile but nothing seems to work. Has anyone been able to successfully remove the DND button?

I think they moved it in a later firmware... You aren't the only one...

Should be able to disable no problem with custom config.

This is the file that I am using for the custom config. Can anyone take a look and let me know what it wrong? Never really wrote a custom config file. Just curious if its right.

Thank you,

Hi Tommy,

Here is the standard custom file I load onto phones - you need release 5 Polycom firmware (I believe) to disable DND.

Make sure the file is saved as a .cfg file type in Windows or it will load into the FTP directory on Sipxcom as custom.cfg.txt and won't be copied onto the phone.

All the best
Peter
