Hi all.

Decided to upgrade a very old 4.4 install  that has been chugging away for several years with a new 17.10 install.  Everything is fine with the exception of inbound faxes.  On 4.4 they worked great, but 17.10 doesn't see to like the way they are coming in.  Is there anything I can do to tune the fax server?

Are these fax to email? If so, this would likely be the Freeswitch issue.

https://freeswitch.org/jira/browse/FS-6954

I can give you a lot more information on it, but our workaround is to maintain an old version for our fax numbers.

You can just downgrade freeswitch too...

Yes - It's fax to email.  Thanks for the info!   At this point I've sent them to a traditional fxs extension, but I would like to get them back on SipX at some point.

This bug appears to be fixed in 1.4.19

Very old issue I know, but was there ever any fix for this besides upgrading SipX?

I'm still on 17.10 and running into this intermittently (many faxes come in fine, but sometimes I get the 0 page faxes). Upgrading the server isn't viable since it's on CentOS 6.9 (which newer versions don't support), meaning I"ll have to build a new server and migrate everything. That's the long-term plan but in the meantime I'm just wondering if there's any workaround since 17.10 has otherwise been very stable. Is there any way to just upgrade to a newer version of freeswitch that doesn't have this issue?

Still running into this - wondering if there's any way to upgrade/downgrade freeswitch (to a version without this issue) without having to do a full server update?

Are you sure it's not a regular phone call ringing a fax number.  Those will do that
