A few weeks back, I was going through old photos at my parents’ house and stumbled across a newspaper clipping. Our 1991 Citizens race was packed with S.C. locals!

 For perspective, in 1991 I was racing Masters 40-44, getting a late start to the season at Iron Horse Classic in Durango where I got the win. 

Can't remember a lot of the victories but sure do remember the ones that weren't.

Joe,

Thanks for sharing this. 1991 was my first year racing Gila. Back then it was in June and Stage 1 was the Time Trial. Here’s a picture from the Time Trial of me and Kent Bostick (Kent is wearing the Stars and Stripes national champion jersey)
