Crew,

Would appreciate a census lookup by anyone having a copy of the 1790 census.

The guy I am looking for is Jakob Hufnagle (sometimes spelled with a double letter F.) He was born and lived in Berks County, Pennsylvania. I think he was born around 1766.....that date is a bit “fuzzy”. I am interested in knowing if he was living in the home of his parents.....and their names..........or if he had established his own home by the time of the first census. His wife was Rosina Wagner and later in life he might have moved to Columbia County, Pa.

I know I am asking a lot with little supporting information. But...for sure....I will appreciate any assistance you folks can provide.

The 1790 census is probably the least informative of all the US Censuses.  Information collected was Name; Number of Free White Males under 16; Number of Free White Males over 16;  Number of Free White Females; Number of Other Free Persons; Number of Slaves.

So no names of parents or children.

There is an entry in Rockland, Berks, PA for Jacob Huffnagel: one male over 16, one male under 16, 2 females.

It wasn't till 1850 that they listed all names and ages of people in a household, and it was 1880 before there was a category for relationships.
