I authorized my computer through shinyapps::setAccountInfo, but I still can't use shinyapps.io

I copied the info from the authorization page you see the first time you go to shinyapps.io and ran it in RStudio, but I still get the authorization page when I go back to shinyapps.io.  Apparently my computer isn't getting authorized. Has anyone run into this problem before?  I'm using my GitHub account for my shinyapps.io account (not sure if that matters...)

The authorization that you are copying form shinyapps.io is for your R process to talk to shinyapps.io (so you can deploy your application).  Whereas the login screen you see for shinyapps.io when you visit it with a browser is for authenticating you (the publisher) to see your account information.

Sorry about the confusion.

Hi Tareef,

I think what Kevin means (I experience the same) is that after calling the setAccountInfo function with the parameters generated on shinyapps.io, the computer doesn't seem to be recognized - that is, I am greeted with the 'Hi, you seem to be new here' message every time I log in, although I have 'authorized' my computer multiple times. I accidentally created two different accounts when I first registered on shinyapps.io, however I'm not sure if this is relevant.

What can I do to upload my apps onto shinyapps.io?

Cheers,
Matthew

I get it.  This is a UI usability issue that we need to find a good answer for.  That message will disappear when you actually deploy your first application.
The UI looks to see if you have any apps deployed and will keep prompting you to setup your machine so you can deploy, but it has no way of seeing if you have run the command in your R environment.  Have you tried deploying an app to see if it works?
