Hi,

In spark.rstudio.com, I was able to use FreeTDS driver to connect to a SQL Server on a third-party-hosted server. However, I am not able to do that with shinyapps.io . Is FreeTDS not supported? The following is the connection string that I've used successfully in spark:

'Driver=FreeTDS;TDS_Version=7.2;Server=<myserver>;port=1433;Database=<mydatabase>;UID=<myuserid>;Pwd=<mypassword>'

Thanks.

I believe this should be supported. What is the error message you are receiving?

The error I am getting is: first argument is not an open RODBC channel
The same code works just fine on spark.

Hi,

You're welcome! I apologize, as I meant to follow up with you, yesterday. Yesterday's release of ShinyApps fixes the RODBC package so FreeTDS driver should now be supported.

Cheers
-Andy
