I was able to deploy the demoApp, but I haven't been able to deploy my app (which has associated data in the form of .dbf, .shp, .RData, and .csv).  Do you have any guidance on this error or how to fix it?

Thanks,
Carrie

Thats error is not related to the contents of your application, but rather a problem accessing the shinyapps API servers via HTTPS.

Are you using some type of proxy server on your network?

What version of RCurl are you running?

I am having the same issue. I am not using a proxy server. My RCurl version is 1.95-4.1. Any help you could give would be much appreciated.

We updated our proxy server late this morning, which may of been causing this issue. Are you still unable to deploy?

I am still unable to deploy but have a different error, which could be a network error between servers?:

Error: /v1/applications/12100/upload 502 - <html>
<head><title>502 Bad Gateway</title></head>
<body bgcolor="white">
<center><h1>502 Bad Gateway</h1></center>

</body>
</html>

That is a very strange error.

Can you run:

options(shinyapps.http.trace = TRUE)

And then try deployApp(), and send the entire output?

Gabe,

I think the problem here is your application name, which by default is the name of the directory is invaild. It must be 3 or more characeters and should not have spaces.

Try changing that directory name, or using deployApp(appName="some_name")

Gabe,

It looks like you have a syntax error in your R code. Keep in mind, all files in the directory will be uploaded to to ShinyApps. So they must be able to be parsed.

Hi Andy,

I have gone through all of my files to make sure there is nothing wrong with them and have tried loading each of them when running the app locally. There have been no issues. I am still getting the parse error, however, when trying to deploy the app. Could I maybe send you my server and ui scripts and you can tell me if there is a syntax issue that is not correct when I try to deploy the app? Thanks for all of your help in this.
