I'm confused about how active hours are computed.  I've created a couple apps and, checking out my usage stats, I see that I've already used 2 hours and they're still ticking away.  My apps are listed as running and have not gone to sleep, even though nobody's using them as far as I know.  Since the basic package is limited to 25 active hours per month, does this mean that all of my hours will be depleted by this time tomorrow?  I feel like my apps should be sleeping, but I don't see an option to put them to sleep, only to archive them.

Oh!  Just after sending this question, I checked and found that my apps have gone to sleep.  I guess I was being impatient.  :P

Glad you figured it out.  Andrew, the app will go to sleep slower if you have an active browser tab open to it.

Old thread, but trying here first, regardless: Is there a timeout if someone leaves a browser window or tab open to the app? I, for one, rarely close my browser when I get up from the computer. One person within just a small group of users could inadvertently cause an active hour limit lock/charge very easily...

Yes, definitely.   You can change the Connection Timeout setting for the application, under settings.  Setting that to a lower number will cause shinyapps.io to consider a connedtion inactive sooner.  The default is 15 minutes.
