I've tried running the authorization code but nothing happens - the dashboard is still showing me the "Hi, you must be new here" message.

Jacob,
You should deploy an app that message will disappear.
It is a UI issue that we need to resolve in the next version of the product.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I am having a new issue when deploying my app - I am getting a "bad signature" error. I am located in Canada and tried setting my locale to en_US.UTF-8 but I am still getting the error.

Sorry about that Jacob.
Could you include the full output of the deployApp() call please?

Jacob, Can you double check that you've copied and pasted your token and secret exactly as its displayed on the shinyapps.io website?

Hi Andy,

I have tried clicking "Show Secret" and selecting the code, copying and pasting to my R console several times, as well as clicking "Copy to Clipboard" and pasting to my R console. Neither give me any output and when I try to deploy my app I get the same "bad signature" error. My app runs fine when I use the runApp() command.

Jacob,

Can you double check that you have the latest version of the shinyapps package by installing it from github:

devtools::install_github('rstudio/shinyapps')

Also, Let me know the output of:

options('width')

Jacob,

Could you try increasing you width parameter and rerunning the shinyapps::setAccountInfo() function from the shinyapps.io dashboard? I think you might be seeing a bug where the config file written by setAccountInfo() is inserting a newline into the keys.

options(width=100)
