Can anyone tell me where the settings are in Visual Studio Code to use an USBASP AVR board as programmer (for a Mega2650)?

TBH, I can't say, I've never had to. I just burn the bootloader with Arduino still!

Is this a Mega2560 with a dead serial interface?

Thanks James.

Your link led to a 404, but further searching on the site may have the solution.

Interesting, link works in Chrome on my phone as long as I copy it and open there, but when I click on it in Gmail app it doesn't work!
