Meeting for our group!!!!

Hello friends from all over!!! 

This past week I had the opportunity to attend the YATA-- Young Adult Transition Association-- conference. During that conference, I attended a session where leaders from all over the therapeutic world sat together at a table. 

What they shared with each other was summed up in what one person said, "I just wish I had a group of people that do similar work, that I knew and trusted, that I could call, email, set up a zoom, or even visit to help me get through this work and grow. If I had more of that in a manageable format, I could help them too." 

WOW!!! I was sitting there thinking of many of you that I have grown a relationship with over the years and realizing-- I already have what these other leaders want! 

I am happy to facilitate our meeting this next week at IECA in San Diego and REALLY hope that many of you take the time to attend. 

Since our group lacks formal design, I figure that even if it is just me and Marty, it will be a party. It's not a coincidence that Marty and party rhyme. Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!! 

Can you please see the below info about our meeting location and time. THEN--- please consider the following things: 

• What would best support you as a leader that this group could do for each other even with limited bandwidth? 
• What is one bigger dream you have for this group? (Think this-- the YATA conference of over 100 people came out of a conversation of a group of 9 people that thought about the unique needs of their industry.) They had a SODSAT moment-- that stands for "somebody oughta do something about that."
• Who do you know that should be "with us" in this discussion but isn't yet? 

The meeting is at 5:30pm on Monday in a room called Shorebreak on the Lobby Level of the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina.

Jen I love this idea! I’d like to share that I have transitioned to a new role at Vista, I am now the Director of the Discover Program 😊

 

My colleague, Suzanne Gregory, is cc’d here and will be attending the IECA next week. She and I have worked closely together over the past several years and many of you may have met her at the fall IECA pre covid times. Whomever admins the google group could you add her to the shared group?

You are SPOT ON regarding this important network of ours, one I value as much as you do. An agency fundraiser is unfortunately keeping me away from the IECA conference next week but I would love to join the Marty Party via Zoom. Is this possible? I hope so as I miss seeing everyone.
