Hi all. I see the Davis Nighttime 200k coming up on the calendar for 7/12 at 8pm, but I don't know much about it. I'm gathering the route was once this: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/1712449, but maybe that will change given the Lopes Rd closure.

I know it's a night start, and a flattish route. Looking at data scraped from rusa.org, I see it's been run 10 times since 2009, with 36 finishers in 2019 (the largest field).

   date       rusa_finishers min_finish_hrs median_finish_hrs max_finish_hrs
 1 2009/06/13             16 10:18          10:33             12:34
 2 2010/06/12             21 9:48           10:55             11:59
 3 2011/07/23             22 9:22           10:54             12:27
 4 2012/09/08             26 9:12           10:52             11:29
 5 2013/09/07             34 9:23           11:00             11:55
 6 2014/09/06             32 9:08           11:21             12:39
 7 2015/09/05             14 9:17           10:11             11:03
 8 2016/09/10              7 11:08          11:08             11:08
 9 2018/09/15             12 9:53           10:18             12:45
10 2019/07/27             36 9:21           10:37             12:52

Anyone have stories from this ride to share? Thanks!

Hi Arvi, you are correct that the route for this year is different from the classic. Here it is:

(This info from the SFR Route Archive Google Sheet:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1LO6FfMJeMP_cvnEUtCfBvpmVudLNzWH-dRVv_PWqLqQ/edit?usp=drivesdk Routes can and do change, so always check and pull down fresh route data in the week leading up to the event!)

I’m planning to ride this brevet as I am interested in the novelty of an overnight 200K. I also suspect it will be intrinsically conducive to group riding and socializing. And of course it’s on (near) a full moon (great scheduling, thanks rob) so the view of the ghostly moonlit mountains promise to be a treat.

Hello,

I have a question as well on the Davis nighttime 200km. I am debating whether to drive or try to take public transportation to the start. Is there a road/path anyone could recommend from the Richmond BART station (I will be coming from SF) to the start/end point. I mapped a route with RwGPS but I am not familiar with this area.

Thanks,

Pascal

Exit BART at El Cerrito del norte, and take the I-80 bikeway from there. It is pretty well signed. If you need it I can send you a ridewith gps route

I'm signed up for the ride. I'm also planning to get dinner at the Mexican restaurant near the start (Mazatlan?) right beforehand, and ride home to Oakland the next morning. If others want to join for any of that, let me know!
