Friends,

I just learned of Michael Parenti's recent death and am sending here a snip of what I received and a link to his last article.

I suspect many of you knew Michael, who did attend at least one of our gatherings, and I believe Jim and Victoria's wedding. He never waws a big spokesperson for 9/11 Truth, but hardly an antagonist, like Chomsky. I met him in 1992 and have always greatly appreciated his work, his humor, his ethics. I am sorry that he succumbed to Alzheimer's; I lost my mother and uncle that way and it is terrible to witness a person dying piece by piece, memory by memory, especially in a great intellectual like Michael...

Michael Parenti was lost to us when he became the victim of Alzheimer's. 

How I used to wish that he could have been an active commenter on the events of the last decade!

Unlike most of you activists, I only discovered Parenti late in my life, but he has been, probably my greatest influence.

Thank God there are so many videos of his lectures, an unintended consequence of his expulsion from. Academia.

Going Underground has eulogized him by posting clips from some of his speeches. They're on his Telegram channel.

It's painful to read acknowledgements of Parenti's death and life from a whole bunch of Western Leftist Intellectuals on faceboot who dismiss him as a "tankie".

Sorry to hear about Michael P.    I am a long time fan - bought some of his books - and hung out with him when his helper/handler Steve Jacobs was a good friend of mine and we got together socially a bunch of times. When Steve passed last year I lost my connection. 

Neither of these guys were comfortable talking 9/11. I still spend a lot of time wondering why.  For Michael he already had an analysis that he was respected for…..and 9/11 put that at risk.   We all know 9/11 is used to discredit  progressive folks with any credibility.   He was not wealthy.   He got screwed royally for protesting the Kent State massacre…lost his teaching job…. and survived book to book….with talks in-between.   Always enjoyed his talks…sometimes on radio.   He was funny….which took some of the terror out of his subjects.   Also enjoyed talks by his son Christian P. 

I was not a close friend - just somebody he got used to seeing and appreciated my help.  Thanks for update. 

PS. I followed link to his last article - and I agree that the overlords run the wars and the young perish and pay for them. Still - I think we also have to look within…war is a culture that many fall for..particularly the men. Yes - it’s the corrupt media controlled by the over-lords who teach men to march to war.   Yet I have always found myself surrounded by guys more than willing to play along….as a natural part of the male/defender/protector psychosis fed by their testosterone.  It’s simple….only the living matter….so be ready to kill the others. 

He wrote much of WWI….a classic example….where all the guys in their bright spiffy uniforms kissed the wives good-bye…told them they’d be back by Christmas in 30 days…and then spent the next 3-4 years eating rats and dodging lethal chemical clouds and artillery shells.
