I haven’t been to LSA in ages, but I seem to remember dew being a problem in the fall. Is that a problem in the spring?

Thanks,

Hey Richard. I don't remember dew being a thing at Lake San Antonio, in either season. Midwinter it's too cold there for me at night.

Dew is almost always a problem at the lake until the summer heat. Part of the reason is proximity to Paso area with the not uncommon 50 splits, I call it. Just the other day it was 45 in the early am and for an hour maybe less 95.

The trick is to keep equipment warm and prolong the night, otherwise call at midnight. I get to about 1am most times this way.

Yeah, kinda what I remember. Makes for short observing nights unless you’ve got dew heaters.

Jamie, you must be going to bed early or sampling too much whiskey if you don’t remember dew at LSA. 🥃😊

Dew prevention on the way.

It can't stay cool temps there for long.

Long term trend for the rest of April is more cold.
