Hello friends,

I was looking for insight and recommendations. Has anyone used N.I.N.A. with PHD2 or SharpCap with PHD2? What do you all use? I just got my ZWO 120mm mini guide camera and guidescope. I already have SharpCap and PHD2 downloaded and I planned to use that until someone in another group suggested i look into NI.N.A.

Thanks for your help
Aris

I love N.I.N.A.! Personally I don’t use PHD2, but there’s plenty of people who use it with N.I.N.A.

I’m assuming you have deep-sky imaging in mind?

Hi Aris,

I use NINA + PHD2.

PHD2 is a standalone guider- it connects to your mount & guide camera and directly performs guiding. I then have NINA take care of sequencing - start guiding/stop guiding etc (say during autofocus runs). Has worked reliably but note that in my case, I like to use stable versions so this is to be expected. I personally avoid BETAs and nightlies but there are lots of people that do regularly upgrade.

Personally, I highly recommend NINA.

I use NINA and PHD2 multistar tracking, works great for me. There are lots of support online for this kind of setup and tons of YouTube how to videos.

+1 for NINA and PHD2.
I strongly suggest using the multistar guiding in PHD2 and the new sequencer in NINA to drive multi target using a lot of OTA type and setup.
(always using the beta/nightly and never had a problem, but YMMV...)
