This is Tom Osypowski's other personal telescope that is for sale.   There are other photos I can share with any interested parties.  Posting on TAC before offering more widely:

Redone 2025 -- portrait1.jpg

20" f3.55 SlipStream GoTo Telescope. This has been my personal Telescope for years. It has been completely renovated, looks sharp, and functions as well as new. Here are some of the features:

-- The primary mirror is from Lightholder Optics. Comes with a full mirror report, showing a Wavefront P-V Error of 1/14, a Wavefront RMS of 1/46, and a Strehl Ratio of 0.982. The views from this mirror back up those numbers. You will not be disappointed.

-- SiTech drive component

-- Cordless hand control that gives you an adjustable 3-speed slew on both axes.

-- slip clutches on both axes gives you the ability to move the scope by hand at anytime without losing positional accuracy. Or you can move the scope with the cordless hand control. Seamless operation.

-- Sky Commander digital setting circles for full GoTo capability. Just push a button and stand back to watch the scope slew to your chosen target and then track it

-- very rigid welded aluminum rocker and mirror boxes

-- solid aluminum rolled altitude bearings

-- stout 1.25" diameter truss tubes are black powdercoated

-- machined lower and upper truss hardware from Aurora Precision

-- state-of-the-art welded steel mirror cell. This cell features an 18point floating back support, a four point floating edge support and an easy two-knob collimation system.

-- heavy duty spider and secondary holder from AstroSystems

-- FeatherTouch Focuser

-- custom truss tube shroud

-- separate interface ring makes assembling the cage easy while standing on the ground.

-- a fan and rechargeable battery mounted in the mirror box to cool the mirror

-- a stalk and tray is provided to carry the DSC, eyepieces, etc.

-- wheels and handles to move and transport the lower assembly

-- tight fitting front and back mirror covers keep insects and dust out of the mirror box when the scope is in storage.

-- all aluminum parts either anodized or powdercoated for durability. Stainless steel fasteners used throughout. -- Extra plate on the Upper Cage to mount a finder or guide scope

-- Included is a dew heater mounted behind the diagonal to keep that mirror dew-free on humid or frosty nights.

-- BONUS! -- an Astrosystems scope cover to protect the entire scope from the weather at star parties.

New price for this complete Telescope system would be $26,500.
This refurbished 20" is offered for $18,500.

The thing with John's optics I've found you feel like you got to haul around a much bigger scope. A 20 inch performs like a 24 inch.

Do we know why he is selling ?  Is he shutting down EQ Systems ?   Or is he just getting too old to be dealing with really big scopes ?

No idea.  Just doing a friend a favor here.  I did just post it on Equatorial Platforms as the available market is clearly much smaller than a 15" Obsession.

You're not the first to ask about why though.

Hi Mark,

I will take the 20" at asking price (presuming it is still for sale).

I had Tom make me a 24" SpicaEye Slipstream in 2019 and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, my adult-onset Muscular Dystrophy progressed and I could not longer balance myself on a 3-step ladder, so had to sell it.

I still miss it, but this will go a long way towards making up for it.

Please let me know the particulars. Also, I am assuming it comes with a SIPS?

Thanks,

Sam Williams
