I no longer have access to past saved sessions. What can I do?

All my past saved sessions are gone as well too. It's a devasting amount of data that was lost.

For reference, when the update went live on the 12th, I tried the "repair extension", option in Chrome which apparently reset and forced Session Buddy to update.

It seems like normally it's supposed to convert all your saved sessions to be compatible with V4 but this never happened. I hope the sessions are still in the SB data file just not readable and not deleted and that there's some way to convert them to be compatible with the new version.

What version is your chrome? https://sessionbuddy.com/browser-compatibility/#:~:text=You%20MUST%20upgrade%20Chrome%20(or,saved%20sessions%20when%20you%20upgrade. Did you check history? All of my previous sessions were moved there.

Yes, SB v4 preserves v3 data during the migration, so it would still be there unless your repair reset the DB.

A migration tool will be made available to convert a v3 database file to a file that can be imported into v4.

Info on that will be posted at https://sessionbuddy.com/restore

BTW: I don't like the restore icon. It looks like all data is reset to zero - and you should add `...` to the name so an user can see there are dialogboxes are comming and it is possible to cancel the operation

Before V4 was announced, I had made copies of the SB SQLite database V3.  I was moving that db to a  Chrome 64-bit Beta release.  If necessary I could go back to V3 & retrythe upgrade.or somehow manually load them intp V4.

I just checked inside V4.  I have sessions dated back seven,7, months ago, August 11, 2023.

An additional option would be to use a SQLite db browser to extract sessions & tabs from the V3 database into a text file.  Reformat them into V4 compatible file layout and import them into V4.

Is here the right place to discuss what have all my sessions gone?

Session Buddy simply updated on its own to v4 and I lost all my sessions. When I try to import my backup I get “invalid file”. This is driving me crackers.

Even deleting Session buddy for MS Edge and installs a crx earlier version I only get a request for a react file rather than the back up number.

Kind regards,

Spence

A migration tool is being built to do this.

Check the snapshots. Old sessions would be there

I had like 5 years of collections, all gone, but lucky I found the file inside the path mentioned in Session Buddy site, it's like 127mb!. And I was able to open it with SQLite, hope we find a way to restore this file called "1" and with it all the data.
