Hi  Session Buddy Team,

Please, could you help with the advanced restore?

I had very important work sessions with many windows and tabs open, also many important saved sessions when my Windows 10 Pro gave a blue screen and did not boot up anymore.
I reinstalled Windows and all my stuff to a NEW SSD.
Now I'm trying to restore Session Buddy sessions from my USB connected OLD SSD(all files are there I can see these and open/copy but I can not get Session Buddy working with changed files).

I have used Advanced Restore instructions as instructed in your article many times, and when it did not work I tried also every other possible way (Safe mode, copy-paste fail content into the file, etc.) unfortunately every time I'm getting an error and red icon. Session Buddy seems to have encountered an error preventing it from starting.

I would be VERY thankful if you could help me restore my sessions as it is very important.

Are there file locations changed or anything else since the advanced restore article is from 2017? https://sessionbuddy.com/backup-restore-advanced/

If possible, could you give me step by step instructions on how to restore saved sessions from an external drive?

Please let me know if you need more information or have any questions.

With best wishes, Yllar

Sadly I'm also experiencing the same issue, whenever I rename my old saved session's name (say "7")to the current one (say "28"), Session buddy turns red, gives me that same error, delete the saved sessions folder. And it would re-create it later after turning it off and on again with a one added to the current (so if it was "28" it would become "29").

Only help I was able to find was in this blog https://www.sentianse.com/blog/recovering-session-buddy-session
I really hope that it's useful.
And if it is i'd love it if someone can give more step to step guidance as I'm still struggling with recovering my file.

The information in the article you referenced is current.

The file is likely corrupted due to the Windows crash, but if you want to send it along, I can try to recover data from it.

I really hope we'll find a way to recover it.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need more info.

With best wishes, Ullar

NB: Just side note, someone replied in the forum following, maybe it is helpful:
It appears that your file is not corrupted even after the blue screen.
Best advice i can give is contacting the session buddy support ( sup...@sessionbuddy.com  )
It will take 24 Hours but they'll give you a backup file which you can use to restore your sessions.
Good luck!

I'm not sure I understand what I need to do, sorry. Do I need to do something like on the attached screenshot?
Please, could you guide me a little more on what I need to do and what the outcome must be?

Hi Ullar,

You could use a service like Dropbox or Google Drive to share the file.

Hi there. I've been unable to find the answer to my question in this Google Group Discussion/Forum. And most of the posted questions I saw while searching either went unanswered or were answered by lay people...and usually 'answered' with either 'I've had the same problem too!' or 'I recommend X alternative to Session Buddy'.
I arrived at this Google group forum after I clicked on 'Help' from my Session Buddy 'page' in Chrome and my questions (which has nothing to do with this particular thread, sorry) are - a.) is there basic help page somewhere, like the kind that would have 'how to get started with Session Buddy' and 'answers to commonly asked questions'? b.) Is there a way to ask a question of, or get help from, Session Buddy Support that doesn't involve hijacking someone else's thread ;)
Thanks in advance!

Okay, so I went to sessionbuddy.com and I think my answers are there. I probably should of tried that before posting the message below. But, really, why does clicking 'Help' from the page chrome-extension://awholebunchofrandomletters/main.html lead me here and why does that page not at least say somewhere that there's a 'support' page that includes a 'troubleshooting' page at sessionbuddy.com? (Largely a rhetorical question.) Long story short, I'm set. Thanks.
