As a long-time Firefox user, I just had to switch back to it this year when its speed issues were finally resolved. The only thing I miss about Chrome is Session Buddy, which I used constantly.

There are several FF session managers, but they all use a drop-down window format. None of them show (or let you show) your session list as a regular page—which is much better, for several reasons:

  • It lets you see a lot more information at a time.
  • You can leave it open during your sessions, to remind yourself there are saved pages you need to see.
  • You can leave it open when you exit, so it's automatically restored the next time you run your browser. (If there's a saved session you need to see again, you have to remember that you should see it!)
Won't you please continue porting Session Buddy to Firefox? I'm sure that many FF users who aren't aware of it would really appreciate it, too. Thanks!

absolutely, firefox is much more capable and can be easily customized but a few chrome tools don't work with FF...

I'd love a Firefox version as well!

I know this thread is old, but is there any news about a Firefox port or version? As zeppy13131 nicely explained, the available session managers in Firefox aren't so productive and intuitive as Session Buddy, for my needs.

A version for Firefox would be deeply appreciated.

Any update on Firefox extension for Session Buddy? Is it planned for future or completely out of scope at the moment?

Another avid Session Buddy user here that would love to see a Firefox version of it. It is also something that holds me back from using Chrome.

Although with some of the recent design changes in Chrome and the horrible memory management, I might just have ditch Chrome anyway.

I recommend using the Opera browser and their add-on called V7 sessions.

David

I just found a decent alternative to Session Buddy for Firefox. It's called Tab Master 5000. It has very similar functionality, although it's a bit clunky and it overrides your New Tab page. I wish there was a icon at the top right instead.

I recommend the Brave browser, which gives you Chromium and access to all Chrome extensions, without the typical Google bloat

Firefox version would be great.  I love how session buddy lets me save different sets of windows.  Makes organization easy..  Please consider.

LOL, having just 10 minutes ago finally given up on the sad joke that is Brave and switched back to Firefox, I would say a FF port of Session Buddy would be a much better option.

I personally recommend an addon called  ”Panorama View”. It lacks auto save function which session buddy offers (which is for me a function not that critical, considering modern browsers can restore tabs even if accidents occur), but lets you drag tabs between groups, really intuitively designed. In my circumstance, 100-200 tabs, I just love it.
In fact, I was struggling to find a similar replacement with "Panorama View" when switching from Firefox to Chrome. Now I'm using Session Buddy simply because there is no one that's better.

Session Buddy for Firefox would be so dope! I think a lot of people will switch to Firefox after Manifest V3 will be introduced to Chrome, as it will kill adblockers.

Now that more people seem to be migrating to FF with the manifestv3 changes coming (including myself as of this week), I would love a port of SB to FF!

Migrating myself. Looking to bring Session Buddy over brought me here. Sad to leave it behind, but the lack of updates to support tab groups means I'm probably not missing anything.
