Hello,

Feature request:

Clicking with the mouse on a filename in 'List Open'
does only close the box, it should possibly open that file instead.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Run latest TSE version 4.47

2. Have some files open (e.g. foobar1.txt, foobar2.txt, foobar3.txt, ...)

3. TSE menu 'File' > 'List Open'. Then a box opens.

4. Click using the left mouse button on any of the filenames (e.g. foobar1.txt).

5. Result: only the box closes

6. Expected result: it should open the filename you clicked on.

7. Use case: to be able to use (also) the mouse (only) to do actions, e.g. doing a (more) important operation like e.g. opening of a specific file(name).

Thanks
with friendly greetings

Status: Update:

It looks like this is an issue.

Because if you do the same action on
TSE menu > 'File' 'List Recent'
then that file is indeed open when you click
on the line.

But similarly using 'List open' does thus not open
the file, but just closes the box with filenames and
returns back to the current file you had open.

1. It should thus be an issue.

2. E.g. in

tse 4.41.46

it worked as expected (that is it opened the file when clicking on the filename when in 'List Open'.

3. But starting from tse 4.42.00 it did not work anymore as expected and just closes the listopen box thus.

I just tried this in 4.43 on Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.  It works exactly as you say it should.  I start with tse.ui, but then modify to my needs.  If I use alt-0 (zero), a popup buffer list appears listing the open files.  If I left-click with my mouse on a file other than the one that is showing, then the file I clicked is brought to the foreground.

Your terminology is a little misleading.  You say:

"But similarly using 'List open' does thus not open
the file, but just closes the box with filenames and
returns back to the current file you had open."

All the files are already open; that's why they are shown in the Open File list.  Instead, the selected file is brought to the foreground.

Try e.g. instead 'List Recent,' also there it works as expected.

Further must it be a clean installation, so that nothing has changed from the default.

It worked thus as expected some TSE versions ago.

In general do I want to edit or open the filename I click on with the mouse and that I saw and see not happening anymore.

Sammy,

Has this maybe been resolved in 4.49?

Thanks in advance

Summary:

Selecting the filename using <ENTER> works thus.

Selecting the filename using double click left mouse button does thus not works anymore since the last TSE version thus.

I double checked in clean 4.48, so there it works.

So I assume this is resolved (e.g. (also) in 4.49).

Thanks
