Dear Børre,
Thanks for your contribution and apologies for the delayed response.
I guess the best way is to make explicitly a pull request on the Semantic Turkey repo:
https://bitbucket.org/art-uniroma2/semantic-turkey/src/master/
this helps getting everything on track and being sure it is not overlooked nor lost in the train of emails and various communications around the platform.
If, for whatever reason, this is not possible, pls let us know,
Kind Regards,
Armando

Dear Børre,
In retrospect, after checking better your languages and discussing it with the team, we believe that the long list of locales would represent a too narrow addition to the list of default available languages in VB. With the same principle applied equally to all languages and locales, the standard distribution would end up with thousands of languages making it unpracticable for most users.
Replacing the language files is not a hard maintenance task so the above consideration over practical costs for you (or anybody needing specific languages/locales for their instance) still take precedence. However, I promise we would discuss with our funders more practical solutions for performing this practice on a regular basis, such as configuring the language list with a dedicated UI (currently you can simply edit the files, or use the general SettingsManager’s UI), or a mechanism for loading presets, such as language files.
Kind Regards,
Armando
