Hi Nasir,

If you're looking into free and open source solution JMeter is the best available option to get things done. It has GUI, record-and-replay options via embedded HTTP Proxy Server, supports HTTP/HTTPS, LDAP, JDBC, JMS, Websockets and many other protocols, can be run in distributed mode to create really huge load. 

The main disadvantage is that JMeter is not a browser so it cannot execute JavaScript so Ajax-driven XHRs need to be manually constructed or recorded using Google Chrome Extension.
