Fluorescent to LED conversion help

Hello helpful folks,

After the ballast died in our ~20 year-old kitchen fixture, I decided to switch it to circular LED tubes. However, after removing the dead ballast, I wasn't sure how to wire the new tubes I bought.

I tried hiring my semi-retired neighborhood electrician, but he hasn't returned my calls.

My main question is how to wire two different 4-pin wires to the single white and single black wires in the existing fixture, (which is already grounded). See photos in this album. Notes about the 7 photos are included:

You could have left the ballast in place and just plugged them in, it looks like.  But I like to remove those, I assume it wastes some power to leave it in.  I’ve put in a lot of the 4 foot straight tubes to replace the fluorescents I have.  Those tubes vary, some want power at just one end and some at either end.

In this case it looks like to eliminate the ballast, you can wire it according to “type B”.  It gives two options, kind of odd that.  I’d just make the connections with appliance type wire nuts.

Good luck.  Only my guesses; officially you should hire an electrician.  Maybe stand back the first time you power it up.  :)

Please ignore this thread. My semi-retired electrician got back to me, and he recommends replacing the entire fixture with one with an integrated LED, so I'll return the unused tubes and buy a fixture instead. 

I appreciate Chris and the entire S67 community.

The only problem with that is when the integrated LED dies, you'll have to replace the entire fixture again.  You can get the same type of fixture that will take LED tubes, then you can just replace the bulb the regular way.  If it's set above the drywall off the ceiling, the new fixture may not fit the same way.  This has happened me.
