Recommendation for roofer?

I have to get my roof inspected for hail damage. Any recommendations?

Hi John,

Here’s my list:

• All-City Exteriors: recommended to me by two neighbors.  Hoping they will come by this week.
• Carl Cure Roofing: recommended by a trusted carpenter.  Talked on the phone but he didn’t show up last week to look.
• Cruz’s Exteriors: recommended by same carpenter. Got a quote last fall.  Price seemed high but I don’t have any other quotes yet.
• Ridge Top Roofing: same carpenter said they have been fine but have gotten big, so like with all of these, it depends on what crew they send to your job.
• RQ Roofing: did our current roof about 18 years ago, really liked them then but doesn’t return my calls now, even though Ramiro did my neighbor’s roof down the street.  Not sure what I did wrong…
• Pro Exteriors (Rockford): was in the neighborhood the day after the storm, I had them inspect the roof.  They’ve been helpful, though I’d rather work with someone more local who doesn’t walk around soliciting business.  But, they return calls and show up, while it’s hard to get in touch with some of the others.

Curious what you find out.

I got a recommendation from the guy who built my deck last summer, Jeff  Frank. Jeff was really, really good, btw. Anyway, he recommended Steve parker with nelson roofing.

I’m going with Carl Cure. He came out to my place on a Sunday. He said they’ve been swamped Since the storms; he came out to my place on a Sunday.

Same thing happened to me when a tree fell on my house a couple years ago after a big storm; they didn't return my calls.  They also installed my metal roof about 16 years ago. Not sure what I did wrong, either.  Maybe the sheer volume of calls?
