I (foolishly) never backed up the 3.5” soft-sectored diskette images that Ken Owen built me for HDOS 3.02, and now am unable to boot (or even DIR) either copy, so now I’m trying to reproduce those. Wondering (hoping?) if this has already been done somewhere? My goal is to set up my NC Super89 with an HDOS 3.02 boot capability on LUN1 using QuickStor instructions by Ken: https://koyado.com/Heathkit/Z67-IDE-plus_files/QS-HDOS%20Setup%20for%20H8.pdf. IMD or IMG files would be great.

I may take a look and see if I can repair ken’s disk images.

I did try to INIT a floppy disk on my other H89 (booted from CF) but the INIT fails (I believe it’s complaining because the CF device driver doesn’t contain the INIT portion, even though I’m INITing the floppy drive ??)

Worst case I’ll create some H17 images and work from there …

Thanks for any pointers.

I recall encountering some weirdness with INIT failing on HDOS 3.02 but don't remember the details.  However, I seem to recall that:
1.  Don't have drives other than SY0: mounted
2.  Make sure you don't / haven't used the PATH statement
3.  CPU speed should be 2 MHz
4.  Make sure the device driver for the floppy drive you want to INITialize is configured correctly using the SET command.  Enter SET DK: HELP for a list of settings and note that each drive may have different settings.

Good luck!

Joe
