Marcus asked me to write a Hello message on joining the SeaDog forum. I have been away from sailing having sold my last yacht - a 28' twister sloop, after a single handed sail to Iceland, and returning with a friend, in 2014 The trip was started and ended at Falmouth. Sailing depends on health, finances, time and desire, the latter being the most important. I am now viewing the sailing horizon again, and planning to buy a boat in two years time. I would be interested to know how the SeaDogs behave in heavy weather. They look ideal for what I have in mind. Single handed sailing (though not always) is something I do, so any comments on that and wind vane self steering would be of great interest. Because of the aft cabin, I am not sure how that would work. I shall look forward to meeting some of you when the covid restrictions are swept away!
Thanks,
Steve

Hi Stephen

I have an Hydrovane wind vane pilot which was previously fitted on another Seadog.
The guy crossed the atlantic single handed and reported itwas fair.
